5 HOT FASHION TRENDS THAT LAST LONGER

April 10, 2018

Fashionweek Berlin July 2018, Panorama:

The collections of Panorama Berlin inspire with bright colours and sportive elements. As one of the fashion trends S/S 2019, athleisure is still hot, but once again interpreted differently.

Leopard prints and many eye-catching patterns combined with stripes made women’s fashion sporty yet feminine; bright beach colours spread a summer feeling and a good mood. Seen a lot: Red with bright or light pink. Light pink also in more unusual colour combinations with navy and brown shades.

Decent biker details and technical fabrics make formal men’s jackets look smart and modern. Not least because they are kept in noble blue and grey shades. Loose concepts also show shirts and shirts in apricot and nude shades as accent colours to the dominating blue.

I consider the following topics to be particularly important and transferable to concepts of functional clothing or even workwear, because in my opinion they last over the seasons. What`s hot, what stays hot?

1. Summer parka

The short summer parka with drawstring catches the eye everywhere and will certainly replace the blouson as one of the fashion trends S/S 2019. The male counterpart: the windbreaker. There is also a variety of sweatshirts, e.g. with turtle neck and bat sleeves.

2. Stripes and Athleisure

Stripes are still there and are reinterpreted in combination with logos, lurex and wild patterns. Sweatshirts and formal jogger pants become more sporty with striped details.

3. Metallic Accessoires

Metal zippers with ring pullers, press studs on the hem of trousers as well as many zippers provide a sporty look in the style of the 80s.

4. Mesh

Although there is already much to see now, I consider mesh to be a topic that has only just begun and can be used in many different ways, here partially as insert, as tape or as pure outer material.

5. Shiny fabrics

Jogging pants, windbreakers or blousons made of flyer silk and shiny (nylon) materials stand out, even here and there in shirred form and in combination with matt surfaces.

All in all, I found the Panorama collections to be a confirmation of existing trends and discovered only a few trend-setting topics. More innovative concepts were to be seen above all in the NOVA halls, about which I will report in another article.
